Riverside bliss
The Albany really is a hidden gem, located near Thames Ditton just a stone’s throw from Hampton Court. The pub is beautifully decorated in a contemporary style, has lots of nooks & crannies with comfy seats and working open fires for the winter.
We visited on a Saturday lunchtime and were lucky enough to score a table on the deck overlooking the Thames. It was busy enough to create a good atmosphere yet not crowded like you might expect on a lovely sunny day.
It appeared that there was table service on the upper deck, but we were Riverside and so I ordered food and drinks at the bar. The staff were charming and couldn’t have been friendlier or more attentive.
As it was lunchtime we went for the lighter options from the sandwich menu; food arrived promptly looked and tasted amazing and once again nothing was too much trouble for the waiting staff.
Perfect setting, good food and great service – we’ll definitely be back soon, maybe to try something a little more substantial from the main menu. Highly recommended!
