There is an overwhelming choice of eateries in Auray and especially at the stunning little port of St Goustan, however we arrived early afternoon and many had already finished lunch service.

The French Galette is located just near to the bridge that connects Auray with the port and has stunning views across the river with a small sun terrace gently shaded with umbrellas to protect from the searing summer sun. They are open all day and so we found ourselves a favourable spot on the terrace and as soon as had we settled pup in the shade with a bowl of water a friendly waiter appeared to take our orders.

Being a traditional crêperie the menu is appropriately limited to the usual sweet or savoury offerings; we both ordered the complète which arrived promptly and were well presented and delicious, especially when washed down with a small bowl of local cider.

Absolutely perfect for a light lunch; great service, great taste and great value. Highly recommended!
