In January 2016 Lumiere London showcased installations from 30 artists in key locations across the capital.  It was the coldest January we’d had for many years, but the crowds turned out in their thousands each evening after dark to witness to the spectacle… Over four nights we enjoyed some stunning works from Circus of Light at Kings Cross to the rather ethereal Les Voyageurs in St James’s Squate.

These rather strange creatures – Les Luminéoles were originally created by Porté par le Vent for the Fete des Lumières, Lyon. There was a happy party-like atmosphere in the crowd as a gaggle of these bobbed along Piccadilly in time to the music.

Catherine Garrett’s Elephantastic (seen here from the front) was my favourite. Regent Street was packed for this one…
